Introducing Hawthorne

The Challenge

Hawthorne Elementary is a K-5 Spanish immersion school where students are taught equally in English and Spanish. Hawthorne had goals to engage not only their Spanish as a second language speakers but also native Spanish speakers and their families. Unfortunately, Hawthorne's brand expression did not reflect those goals and wasn't engaging those student and their unique identities.

The Opportunity

I worked on a team of six designers where we crafted anew brand for Hawthorne that captured their goals, commitment to develop students that will go on to be global learners, andenergetic school spirit.

Research & Ideation

Conducting research to through collaborative design

After taking a tour at Hawthorne and speaking with their faculty, our team used collaborative design methods for our ideation process. One of the main tasks of this ideation session was to brainstorm how to best represent Hawthorne's dual language program. From this we were able to begin crafting Hawthorne's new brand.

I was tasked with the logo, brand book guidelines, and our case study presentation.
